44th Biennial Texas Association for the Deaf Conference
June 21-23, 2007 Arlington, Texas

Every two years, TAD gives out several awards to honor and recognize individuals who have volunteered their time, talent and energy. There four prominent awards are as follows:

THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: To be given to a person whose voluntary services have made a significant cultural, artistic and social impact on the lives of deaf and hard of hearing Texans from 2005 to 2007.

THE EDUCATION AWARD: To be given to a person who actively engaged in the education of the deaf, whether in an administrative, supervisory, instructional, or guidance professional capacity, whose work has contributed significantly to the field in the last two years.

THE GOLDEN HAND AWARD: To be given to a person or organization which has been actively involved in activities resulting in the overall betterment of deaf and hard of hearing people in general from 2005 to 2007. This is a joint NAD and TAD award.

THE VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD: To be given to a person who has volunteered over and above the call of duty for TAD and the Deaf Community for the last one year or two years.

If you have a worthy candidate in mind, send an emailed nomination to the Awards/Recognition Committee in care of Steve Baldwin at [email protected] or mail out to TAD in care of Steve Baldwin, TAD President at P.O. Box 1982, Manchaca, TX 78652.

Deadline is April 30. 2007.
