The Texas Parent to Parent Supporting Parent Volunteer training
prepares you to provide information and emotional support to another
parent new to the diagnosis of hearing loss for their child.

We will discuss:

– The stages of grief that most parents experience

– Listening and communication skills

– Local, state and national resources care for the caregiver

You will also learn what TxP2P expects of their volunteers. Then you
will tell us how you want to help. We have a lot of parents that have
requested a Supporting Parent match and need more trained volunteers.

We hope you can join us on the 29th

If you can, please answer the following questions:

Do you need childcare? If so, how many kids will you bring? Please
tell us their names, ages, and any special accommodations we need to
let the child care workers know about.

Please let us know if you have any time restraints or dietary needs.

After we hear from those of you who can attend, we will send out
information and directions.

Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions:
