Priest Fights To Start Home For Deaf
Castle Hills Law May Stop Him From Training Deaf Boys For Priesthood
POSTED: May 28, 2008
CASTLE HILLS, Texas — A priest said he will continue to try to use a
Castle Hills home to house deaf students.
Father Tom Coughling said he wanted to use the 8,100-square-foot home
as a dormitory for deaf students training to be priests.
But a Castle Hills ordinance prohibits more than five unrelated
people from living in the same house. Coughling said he wants the
Castle Hills Zoning Commission to allow him to have about eight
students at the house.
The matter will be taken before the commission June 3, 2008
