SWCID REUNION – UPDATED 07/28/2008
HELLO EX-STUDENT, EX-FACULTY, STUDENT, FACULTY, AND PEOPLE :
We have received more new e-mails lately. We appreciate all your
votes and feedbacks. Remember we can’t guarantee 100% or can’t promise
100% yet if we can use the SWCID building in Big Spring, Texas. We are
still waiting to hear from the PROVOST of SWCID in Big Spring, Texas.
We are working to write a formal letter to him HOPEFULLY that he will
approve to let us have the campus of SWCID open for the SWCID Reunion.
We want to remind everyone that Ron Brasel is no longer the Provost of
SWCID as you all may know that he has retired. There is a new PROVOST
and we are not sure what his name is yet.
WE WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THE LATEST VOTES ON THE POLLS. HERE ARE
THE RESULTS:
CHOOSING THE MONTH:
100% – AGREE IN JULY
1% – AGREE IN APRIL AS NORMAL
WHICH CITY DO YOU PREFER FOR SWCID REUNION
90% – IN BIG SPRING, TEXAS
8% – IN DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TEXAS
1% – IN AUSTIN, TEXAS
1% – IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
WHAT YEAR OF SWCID REUNION DO YOU WANT TO COME
80% – 2010
20% – 2011
WE NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY DAYS DO YOU REFER
0% – FOR 6 DAYS
100% – FOR 4 DAYS.
What happens if the PROVOST of SWCID turns us down in July 2010
(summertime) for the SWCID Reunion. We want to ask you what can we do?
Should we go ahead to set it up in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area for
SWCID Reunion as 30th Anniversary or should we cancel it? We also want
to let you know that since receiving a lot of emails it seems like
almost everyone wants to come in the summer time. Maybe you all can
help us to try to ask the PROVOST of SWCID to allow us to be able to
use the SWCID building for the summer time.
Lisa had been talking to several people and several companies about
the yearbook. She want to be able to have more than 500 pages from
1980 to present. She know that some of them want to see and have good
memories in the past. She wants all of the pictures to be in the SWCID
in yearbook. Remember in the past, there was not enough pictures of
SWCID in the Howard College Yearbook. We need your help on what kind
do you want to have for the hardcover of the yearbook.
We are also coming up with other items such as selling t-shirts or
calendars of SWCID and other items to be created later. The money
raised from these items will be collected the proceeds will go the
funding for a new sculpture (a bust statue) of Dr. Douglas Burke. We
would like to honor and remember him. We would like to put the
sculpture outside in front of the SWCID entrance building.
Lisa was thinking about setting up a new website for everyone so that
they can read about what’s going on and what news. She is thinking of
calling the new wesites “SWCID NEWS”. Any advice, any suggestion, or
rename the websites. Let me know. She will be happy to hear from you.
We still need your email addresses from ex-student, ex-faculty,
student, faculty, and people. So we can update every week if we can.
We need more, please, we need your help.
*NEED NEW LOGO FOR FRONT COVER FOR YEARBOOK.
*NEED LOGO FOR T-SHIRT FOR SWCID REUNION.
* ANY SUGGESTION, ANY ADVICE, ANY FEEDBACK WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
PLEASE , WE LOVE TO HELP AND SHARE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP UPDATING
ABOUT WHAT’S GOING.
THANK YOU
LISA SALAZAR
