Give Away Day 2008

Saturday, October 11 2008

Legacy Church of Christ

Give Away Day is a wonderful and long-standing ministry of the Legacy
Church of Christ. Hundreds of families and thousands of individuals
from the local community, North Richland Hills and surrounding areas,
are provided clothing, house wares, toys, food, and most importantly
an opportunity to see the love of Jesus in action.

If you are in need of such items, you are welcomed to come to
Giveaway Day 2008. Registration numbers are randomly distributed at
approximately 8 am.

I prefer to have my work email address in private. They can contact
me through [email protected]

anytime after 5pm Monday – Friday and anytime Saturday. No Sunday.
Only if they are lost and I can explain how to get there. The email
address is only for lost or want to know how to get there. No junk
email on my blackberry.

Thank you for your time and hope see you all there. We as Deaf
Ministry (some of us) will be there.

Otherwise, you can be there very early before 8am if you want to as
catch parking. We feed hotdogs and soft drinks to those who are
waiting. I think they provide breakfast. I am not sure.

History:

Give away day

This years Give away day is October 11, 2008.

History of Give-Away Day

The Pipeline Road Church of Christ began “Give-Away Day” in 1985.
Except for one year, the church has continued to hold this annual
event every year. Last year, we served almost 400 families on
“Give-Away Day.”

The members of the Legacy Church of Christ bring new and used items
to give on this one day of benevolence outreach. We bring clothing,
especially coats for the children for school. We bring shoes, school
supplies, and a lot of toys. While the first consideration is the
children, we supply clothes for adults, cooking utensils, and some
small household items. Our “Quilting Ladies” meet throughout the year
to prepare quilts to give each family one quilt on this day. We
prepare boxes of food. The number of people in the family determines
how many boxes of food are given. We feed hotdogs and soft drinks to
those who are waiting. We offer Bible correspondence courses, and give
away Bibles.
