SWCID REUNION 2010
NEWSLETTER
*** REMINDER — The Yearbooks will be sold for $ 65.00 per book, with
400 pages in black/white and colors. The pictures in the yearbook will
show from the following years in 1980 to present. We will be getting
some collections of old photos and pictures from SWCID. SWCID staff
will give it to us soon. Hopefully we can sell over 400 books and we
will sell them until May 31, 2009. Then there will be extra $75.00
from June 1, 2009 to December 2009. If we don’t sell more than 400
books, the yearbooks may cost more. We encourage everyone to get one
for your great memories in SWCID. We will add more photos to the
yearbook after our SWCID Reunion 2010 is finished in July so that you
will have memories that you were there!
*** REMINDER — Lisa Wynn has been speaking with some old ex-SWCID
students, and they are drawing “Logos” for the Yearbook and T-shirts /
Polo Shirt designs. We can’t wait to see the designs. The vote will be
decided by SWCID Staff which is the best design. The winner’s will be
announced at the SWCID Reunion 2010. Come and join if you want to draw
and design new logo for the yearbook and T-Shirt / Polo Shirts, enter
for your chance to win prizes. Remember we told you last time that
there is a winner’s prize, it is not cheap. It will be a good prize
for the Top Design.
*** WEBSITE — We are currently working on our own Website for SWCID
Reunion 2010. It is currently under construction, so that everyone can
look at the website as soon as possible. We are trying our best.
*** SPONSORS & DONATIONS — We are currently trying to raise funds
for the sculpture of Dr. Douglas Burke. It has been since 1995, I
remember someone spoke about wanting a sculpture of Dr. Burke, but it
never happened. I have lost contact with this person. I hope I can try
to get in touch with the person I am looking for. Today I am asking
for sponsors and donations from anyone, and that would be great, and
it will go towards the sculpture of Dr. Douglas Burke to be placed on
SWCID campus. We are working on making a formal letter to send out to
sponsors or anyone who may want to help raise funds for this great
sculpture. Remember it is your school and to be proud of it to see Dr.
Burke there in sculpture. Let’s keep our fingers crossed in 2 years.
*** T-SHIRTS / POLO SHIRTS — We are working with companies to see
who is the best price for our t-shirts and polo shirts and other
merchandise for sales.
*** ENTERPRISES / VENDORS — Lisa Wynn is working on finding out who
will be there at the SWCID Reunion 2010, we are trying to get as many
enterprises and vendors to come for the event.
*** LOST AND FOUND — Lisa Wynn and Christine Kamal are continuing to
look for old ex-SWCID students, and old ex-staff and faculty. Some of
them don’t live in Texas, we have all people from all over the U.S.A.
and out of country. We are trying to catch them for their home
addresses and email addresses so we can send them information about
our reunion. Guess what some of them don’t know about the deaf network
or deaf newspaper websites. That is why we are working hard to find
everyone and catch them so that they can come join to our SWCID
Reunion 2010.
*** SAVE $$$$ — Remember start saving money every month for the next
1 1/2 yr to 2 years for your SWCID Reunion 2010. Save money every
month for your airplane flight ticket, car rental, hotel / motels,
dorm overnight stays, food / meals, merchandise ( souvenirs) like
T-shirts and other things. We want you ! We want you to come and meet
old and new faces. Come see new SWCID Buildings today that are new and
our old buildings no longer there or have been replaced.
*** Money Orders — If you need to send us the money order, make it
payable to ” Lisa Wynn ” or Chrisian Kamal (Please only money order
(for temporary) until we will be announced nearby the further). We
will have the account ready. Do not forget to put a memo on your check
bottom left what it is for. For example: Yearbook, T-Shirt / Polo
Shirt, Combo Ticket, Dorm, or Donations. Send your personal checks or

*** SWCID Reunion in July 2010 — When you come to the reunion, we
will not accept your personal checks or money orders. We will take
CASH ONLY. We just want to remind you. We will keep selling yearbooks,
combo tickets, T-shirts & Polo shirts and whatever we have until
December 31, 2009 for our security. We will only accept your money
orders or personal checks until December 31, 2009.
*** BIG SPRING, TEXAS — Lisa Wynn will be flying to meet Mark Myers
the Provost of SWCID. We will be discussing plans for the SWCID
Reunion 2010. Then again we will meet them in January or Febuary 2009
to discuss about the combo ticket sales and other things, before we
announce to everyone in the newsletter or on our websites or deaf
network or deaf newspaper websites.
*** WHO MAY COME ? — Anyone is welcome to come, there is no limit.
Family, Friends, Relatives, old ex-SWCID Students, old ex-faculty and
staff, anyone is welcome. Come and have yourself a grand old time and
mingle with your family and friends. We encourage people from all
walks of life, whether you are hearing or deaf, come and join us. The
core focus for our reunion is to bring everyone together for the
purpose of socializing and most importantly having fun.
