Angel Ramos – Keynote Speaker
Angel is a former resident of the Dallas metro area and a former
member of DAD. Many Dallasites will recall him being a strong Deaf
rights advocate. He was instrumental in helping DAD, along with a few
others, to receive a grant from the City of Dallas to pave the
parking
lot and to build the fence around the clubhouse. Angel was involved
with the Gallaudet University Deaf President Now (DPN) movement in
1988 and co-hosted the recent 2008 DPN anniversary at Gallaudet.
Throughout the years Angel has made many positive impacts on the
education of Deaf students as well as helping to expand educational
opportunities for the Deaf and hard of hearing children and adults.
Brian Brizendine – Master of Ceremonies
Brian was born to a Deaf family and raised in Maryland where he spent
most of his childhood. While growing up he would join his20Deaf
parents at the Washington DC Club of the Deaf and later participated
in various Deaf sports. Brian is a big supporter of Deaf rights,
clubs
and the Deaf communities.
