City of Fort Worth Holding Hearings on Modern Street Car System

For Immediate Release!

CITY OF FORT WORTH HOLDING HEARINGS ON MODERN STREET CAR SYSTEM

The City of Fort Worth is holding three (3) community meetings to
discuss a modern street car system for Fort Worth. The City Council
appointed a committee in July, 2008 to determine whether or not
streetcars should be a part of the City’s transportation system as
they once were more than 50 years ago. The Modern Streetcar Study
Committee is also charged with researching light rail and streetcar
systems in other cities, assessing costs and benefits, and making a
recommendation to the City Council.

The three meetings are scheduled to take place on:

Monday, November 17 at 6:30 PM

Rose Marine Theater

1440 N. Main Street

Tuesday, November 18 at 6:30 PM

Guinn School

1150 South Freeway

Wednesday, November 19 at 6:30 PM

University of North Texas Health Science Center

Everett Hall, RES Building

3500 Camp Bowie Blvd.

This is an opportunity for people with disabilities, the Deaf and
Hard of Hearing Community and all residents of Fort Worth to
participate at the beginning of a City project to ensure it will
benefit all communities. All ages are encouraged to attend to learn
about the project and how it will benefit you.

Sign language interpreters and CART services will be provided.
