meeting, The City of Fort Worth’s Human Relation Commission decided
that it was important to meet with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Community. This meeting took place on October 28, 2008 and much was
learned by the Commission and discussed with members of the Community.
The meeting ended with the decision to hold a second meeting to learn
more and discuss emergency needs and law enforcement issues. This
second meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, November 18th, at 5:30 PM, and
will include Juan Ortiz, Emergency Management Coordinator for the City
of Fort Worth and Deputy Chief Ken Flynn of the Fort Worth police
department will be presenting information to the Commission. This is
an opportunity for you to share your experiences, ideas, concerns and
suggestions to improve accessibility for the Deaf community of Fort
Worth and for the citizens of Fort Worth in general.
