BONHEYO & BONHEYO LLC. TO LAUNCH SPORTS WEBSITE COMPANY
SportsMX to Be One-Stop Sports Information Center for The Worldwide
Deaf Community
In response to the strong need for a publication or website that
specializes in serving the deaf sports community (athletes, coaches,
and fans), Bonheyo & Bonheyo is establishing a sister company,
SportsMX. The new company will run a comprehensive sports website
geared for the deaf community worldwide–likely the first of its kind.
It is slated to be online at http://sportsmx.com
starting on Monday, November 17, 2008.
SportsMX is created with the intention of providing a place where
people will get the latest on sports teams and athletes in the deaf
community locally, nationwide, and worldwide. The news content will be
broad and diverse to appeal to all kinds of sports fans
Bridget Bonheyo, CEO of Bonheyo & Bonheyo, says, “I am very much
looking forward to the launch of SportsMX. SportsMX will give deaf
athletes much needed exposure, as well as financial support for those
competing in the Deaflympics.”
SportsMX is determined to bring the website on the technological
leading edge of how news is served to the deaf. In addition to
providing quality articles and blogs in English, the website will also
present contents visually–particularly articles in ASL and
International Sign Language, vlogs, video interviews, webcasts, and
talk shows.
The website also seeks to entertain with blogs and vlogs covering
sports at large (i.e. NFL, NCAA Basketball, UFC, etc.) and will host a
talk show, featuring Paul Rutowski (Austin), Peggy Ann Wenger
(Philadelphia) and Matt Ellis (San Diego). Those panelists were chosen
because of their wit, personality and broad knowledge of sports.
Ben Moore will be SportsMX’s first Editor-in-Chief. A recent
graduate from Gallaudet University, he has a background in media and
has shown that he can bring in fresh ideas. Ben currently resides in
Maryland. “I’m looking forward to the exciting challenges that
running a groundbreaking website will bring,” he says.
