Vonnie Basham will talk about “Elder Abuse-Domestic Violence”
Vonnie had worked with Deaf Abused Women and Children Advocacy
Services from 2001 – 2007. She began as a counselor and in the summer
of 2004 became DAWCAS’ Program Director. Her responsibilities included
overseeing direct services as well as community education activities.
She is now the Deaf Services Counseling Coordinator at SafePlace, a
domestic violence and rape crisis agency located in Austin, Texas.
then Ann Horn will talk about “What Can DHHS Do For You?“
Ann works with Direct Services under DARS-DHHS for 16 years. Her
responsibilities are interpreting services, senior citizens program,
Camp SIGN, information and referral on services and handling the
payment vouchers for services.
