Texas just experienced a very active and destructive hurricane
season. However, severe weather and other disasters can happen any
time of the year.
Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Blind Texans can get more and timely
information about emergency situations such as hurricanes, tornadoes,
floods, evacuations and other serious weather events in ASL, voice or
text by signing up for the Accessible Hazard Alert System-Individual
notification service.
Just visit http://www.deaflink.com/ahas/ahas.html
to sign up.
It’s easy and free, all you need is computer access. The
notification of an alert can be sent to email, pagers, or cell phones
and PDAs with email capability.
This service AHAS-IN, provided by Deaf Link will give you access to
information for your county, city or state. If you already subscribe,
please tell others in your community so they too can register for
these potentially lifesaving messages.
Thank you for your time.
