Property Taxes – Travis County
SAVE MONEY! If you can’t pay all of your property taxes, contact
the
tax office for a payment plan. The deadline to pay 2008 property
taxes
is Monday, February 2, 2009. Pay as much as you can by the deadline
to
avoid penalty and interest, which starts at 7% on February 3 and
increases each month. By July it’s 18% and in a year’s time, 24%.
Tax, penalty and interest are dictated by law.
The tax office has no authority to negotiate lower penalty and
interest.
A payment arrangement will minimize the amount of penalty and
interest paid. Call 854-9473, visit the tax office in person or
follow

request a payment plan.
