JMAVRS will provide an excellent video relay service. You can use
JMAVRS to call any hearing person. JMAVRS.TV will be installed on
either 100-VP or 200-VP speed list.
The JMA students and staff will be greatly appreicate your support
for the school programs to be expanded in the near future.
WHAT IS JMA?
Jean Massieu Academy is an open-enrollment charter school that was
opened in August 1999 to serve deaf, hard of hearing and their
non-deaf siblings or peers, from pre-K through 12 grades. JMA is
unique because we are a school of choice providing all instruction in
American Sign Language (ASL) creates are equitable communicat5ion
environment for our students and staff. At JMA, all staff and
students, whether deaf or not deaf, communicate freely using ASL. The
bilingual environment removes communicatrion barriers that normally
exist for deaf and hard of hearing students within the traditional
public school systems. We believe that the bilingual communication
environment that exists at JMA a greatly and enhanced our students”
academic performances. This is clearly evidence by the “can-do”
attitude among our students.
