Scarborough Faire and MIS are looking for a few good interpreters who
would like to have fun while interpreting!
Would you like to interpret at Scarborough Faire? (Waxahachie, Texas)
Saturday, April 4th is being advertised as “Deaf Awareness Day” at
Scarborough Faire. This will be an opportunity for everyone to come
out and have fun with the actors at Scarborough Faire. You do not have
to be certified. If you are an interpreting practicum student, a
native signer, or someone very confident in their own interpreting
skills and would like to have the opportunity to interpret for the
public (which, of course, will include those who are deaf.), then

Mind you, this will not be a totally volunteer event. The Faire will
be open from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. For coming to interpret, each
interpreter will receive a T-shirt (which we will all wear the day we
are working), a coupon for a turkey leg and a drink, and a ticket to
return just for fun!
Overall, each act is 30 minutes long and they perform four times a
day. The rest of the time, you can roam through the park and assist
the patrons in the arts and crafts booths or watch other interpreters
work. Some of the acts will have one interpreter, some will have two.
