Hello DAD Members and Friends
It is my pleasure to introduce myself. I moved to Dallas
approximately a year and a half ago from Washington State. I attended
the Washington School for the Deaf. Before I moved to Dallas, I have
worked with patients at NWDAC (Northwest Deaf Addictions Recovery
Center). Prior to NWDAC, I used to own a live nightclub (for public),
owned a café, and had a landscaping business of my own along with my
experience as a handyman/maintenance for some apartment complexes. I
have two children, aged 17 and 8. My daughter is Deaf and my young son
is hearing.
Based on my experience that I have had in Washington, I feel I can
make many good contributions to DAD. I am much honored that the
members voted for me.
As you know, the following who are on the board and I am pleased to
have them as part of my team: Vice President: Marianne Sasseen,
Secretary: Janel Davis, Treasurer: Jimmy Cooksey, and the Board
Members: Sonja Cooksey, Melissa Schiber, Anthony Jones, Cindi Nagy
(social director), Kent Reneau (chairperson of the board), Rita J.
Reneau (kitchen manager), and Sheryl Schroeder. David Normand is our
Bar and House manager. Maxine Satarino is our Admission and Membership
chairperson.
I would like to list the following events planned at DAD for March:
March 14 – SWBAD AFTER EVENT PARTY – 8 pm – 2 am
March 20 – General Members meeting – 7:30 pm
March 21 – CINGO NIGHT (Lasagna/salad/bread will be sold by SWBAD
Committee)
March 28 – two presentations: VIABLE (11 – 2 pm) along with food.
SORENSON (6 – 8 pm)

For those of you who have not yet met me, do please come up and
introduce yourself to me.
I am looking forward to my first year as president at DAD and I have
many new goals. Plus I am looking forward to meeting everyone and to
making DAD the best club ever.
