A MESSAGE FROM THE DAD PRESIDENT:
Hello DAD Members and Friends,
Spring is here and this means it’s time for spring cleaning at DAD.
The DAD renovation committee is gearing up to clean out the patio area
and repair the fence around the patio. They also plan to remove the
old paint outside around the building, prime, and repaint the building
the same time as the renovations at the patio area. Once it is done
DAD plans to name this area “The Cathy Edler- Ashley and Preston
Ashley, Sr. Patio” in honor of the many wonderful and successful
feats they both have accomplished while members of DAD (& still are).
Speaking of Preston Ashley, Sr., we are pleased to know that he is
returning to Dallas to visit us next month and while here he will be a
part of the DAD renovation committee as well.

For those of you who haven’t checked out our newly revised DAD
webpage done by our webmaster, Cathy Edler-Ashley, please do take a
look at www.dallasdeafclub.org. I am very proud of our new look.
On March 14th, DAD had a successful party, the SWBAD AFTER EVENT
Party, hosted by three organizations; Diversity Entertainment, the
Dallas Softball team, and the Dallas Basketball team. Over 300 were in
attendance and the music was provided by DJ Calvin Nagy. The evening
was enjoyed by all and I do want to show my appreciation to the DAD
board and David Normand, House and Bar Manager and his group of
volunteers for putting in many hours that evening ensuring that this
party was a success.
I’m happy to announce the election of two new trustees: Jesse
Carrizales and Kevin Sowards. They will join Will Monteleone as our
trustees.
This Saturday, March 28th, we will have two presentations, both given
by VIABLE, 11:00 – 2:00, and SORENSON, 6:00 – 8:00. Food will be
provided during both presentations. Please do come and learn what is
new in the technology world.
By the way, our snack vending machine, thanks to Michael Kramer, is
now working and full of goodies. It is located in front of the
kitchen. The bar also has snacks as well.
