SWCID REUNION 2010 – Updated 4/2/09

BIG SPRING, TEXAS

** MORE GOOD NEWS **

March 7, 2009 – at Austin , Texas at the Deaf Nation Deaf Expo,
Christine Kamal, Lisa Santos, and Linda Hobbs were there. They told me
that there were a lot of people were asking questions, and some of
them bought the yearbooks. They brought their pictures to them. They
told them that they are going to SWCID Reunion in July 2010. I would
like to big “THANK YOU” to Christine Kamal, Lisa Santos, and Linda
Hobbs.

SWCID Reunion 2010 committee needs your big help. Mostly people want
to see or hear from Bob Coltrane. Last word from Wilma Truitt said
that ( not sure where ), Bob Coltrane must be working as a director or
coordinator of the interpreter service in Ohio at either in Columbus
or Cincinnati. Please find him and let him know about the SWCID
Reunion and we want him to come.

Lisa Wynn received the news from Ron Gough, Wilma Truitt, Danny
Campbell, Larry Boyd, Delores Erlandson, Larry Smith and Beatrice
Burke. They will be there. Of course present faculty / staff of SWCID
will be there too. Minnie Mae Wilding-Diaz at Utah, Leslie Earnst at
Oklahoma, and Michael Chenug said “Maybe”. We will trying pull
them to come.

Lisa Wynn have not hear the news from Marcus Myers at Corpus Christi,
Texas, Larry Evans at Austin, Texas, Steve Baldwin at Austin, Texas,
Sandra Ammons at Fremont, California, Jeff Richard at Indiana and
Angel Ramos at Phoenix, Arizona.

I will ask Dom Bonura, Helen Bonura, Laurel Brasel if they will come
or not.. I will let everyone know who will come and who will not come.
Who do you want the faculty and staff to come. Let me know. We want
everyone be there. This may be out last chance for a great reunion.

There were about 198 Faculty and Staff (1980-2009). But there were 5
were obituaries. Those that are really hard for me to find everybody
and try to pull them to come. Why do I want to pull all of faculty and
staff to come our SWCID Reunion 2010? Everybody wants to see you. It
was been long time since. They want to give them chance to see you
again and have old pals. Give me a chance.. Come and join our SWCID
Reunion 2010. Just once. I won’t bother in the next 5 years ( 2015 ).

I counted the students who entered SWCID, there were 1322 plus
continuing one more year.. But there were 13 or more obituaries
(unofficially). I ask all of you who are ex-student from SWCID, come
to our SWCID Reunion 2010. We have a lot of things to do, we have best
enterprises, sports that you want play and challenge, booths/exhibits
and tour around new SWCID building and many more to do. Come and join
our SWCID Reunion 2010.

Many people who want to know more information and combo form and
other things. We would like to tell you that we are not finished yet.
We are waiting for Mark Myers of Provost SWCID the prices for SWCID
dorm and Howard College dorms . We have to find the catering on Friday
and Saturday and find the prices. Also we have to find the prices for
T-shirts and Polo Shirts. The last one, we need to make the form for
booths/exhibits for our SWCID Reunion 2010. We will make brochures
(schedule) what’s going in SWCID Reunion 2010. We have a lot of work
to do.

Lisa Wynn and Christine Kamal finally are working on the website, we
will have it up and running very soon. We are working hard on this
part. It has not been easy. We are very exciting to get this up and
running soon. Stay tuned.

*********************Reminder YEARBOOK Reminder*******************

Do not forget to buy the yearbook before May 31, 2009 . The price
will cost $65.00. After May 31, 2009 , the price will be raised up to
$75.00. Mail to Christine Kamal, 14250 Kimberley Lane # 308, Houston ,
Texas 77079, if you plan to write the personal check, please write to
“Reunion 2010”.

Some people want to have “CD” instead of yearbook. There might be
a little risk. Remember in the future there may not be the same size
of CD. There will be different size. Also if CD is broken or scratch.
Sorry there is no replacement. You will loose everything. It is better
to have a Yearbook, because you can see it again and again memories.
If the future changes CD design become smaller in computers then you
won’t be able to view the CD because of different size, who knows. You
can’t blame everyone for that. Think Twice.

******************Reminder PICTURES Reminder********************

Do not forget to bring the pictures that you want to share everybody
in yearbook.. We can scan for you. Or you can scan your pictures then
email and send to us. We have a lot of pictures to share with everyone
for yearbook. We did scan some pictures from SWCID Museum , too. We
try to finish everything. It is hard part. Let you know that we have
some pictures, must be around from 1982 to 1990. I did not have
pictures of 1980 to 1982 and 1990 to 2010. Send me your pictures that
you take the pictures in SWCID that time.

*** FUNDRAISING / DONATIONS ***

We will sell some items that we need fundraising. Of course we have
donation form. If you want to see the donation form. I will be happy
to send you. So you can look at it.

Lisa Santos will go to Big Spring , Texas to make a deposit The
Howard County Fair Barns. We have some volunteer to come for
enterprises.

We need volunteer for sports. Sport will have softball, horseshoes,
racquetball, disc golf, bowling and basketball. Tony Lang will be
Sport Director. He will responsible for rule of sports, fees the cost,
and etc. We are still working on the form and we still need talk to
Tony before we will announce soon.

Also Linda Hobb-Shipley will take care of “Silent Auction” and
she have some good creative. There will have many different kind of
basket with things. Look good. Do not forget to bring extra cash in
case if you are interesting or not to bid for the Silent Auction.

******* ATTENTION EVERYONE ************

The reason that I want everybody who were ex-SWCID student or
ex-SWCID faculty / staff to come here for once in a lifetime last
chance to see each other before we get older later. There will be many
good things and issues that we will have at the SWCID REUNION 2010. I
am begging everybody to come. No matter if you didn’t graduate or not
from SWCID. But you are still a part of SWCID. Come and join us. I am
begging all of the faculty and staff come for our 30 th anniversary.
We will have a big event there. It will be something different there.
It will be very good. I would like to say a very “BIG THANK YOU” to
those who are involved in the SWCID Reunion 2010 Committee, they all
have a great mind for this planning.
