Children of a Lesser God Shows at Dionysus Theatre – Houston
Dionysus Theatre presents Mark Medoff’s “Children of a Lesser God”. Opening up their 12th season, Dionysus Theatre brings this beautiful play to fruition with an inclusive cast.
Casting actors who are deaf, hearing impaired and of hearing, this show explores the relationship of James Leed and Sarah Norman. James Leed, a teacher at the school for the deaf falls in love with Sarah, a woman who is profoundly deaf. Through the ups and downs of learning to communicate, James
realizes he can’t change a person, until he changes his heart.
The show opens Saturday, October 17th at 7:30 p.m. at their location: Joe Frank Theater 5601 S. Braeswood, Houston, Texas 77096 inside the J.C.C.. The show runs Thursday and Saturdays at 7:30p.m., Sundays at 3 p.m. until October 29, 2009.
The cast includes Jeremy Westin as James, Brittany Mendes as Sarah, Casey Deaton as Orin, Melody Gray as Mrs. Norman, Lori Evans as Lydia Ted Doolittle as Mr. Franklin and Jocelyn Williams as Edna Klein. Deborah Nowinski directed and Paulette Wellman, interpreted.
