Merritt Interpreting Services, LLC is seeking an Interpreter Coordinator for
our office in Dallas, Texas.
Title: Interpreter Coordinator (full-time position)
Position Summary: Responsible for the daily scheduling of interpreters &
general administrative duties.
Essential Duties:
* Schedule appropriate interpreter for interpreting requests received, with
regard to the client, language use and setting.
* Communicate assignment information to interpreter and confirm with client.
* Coordinate schedules of office staff and on-call interpreters.
* Field telephone calls and resolve questions or needs through scheduling
and advocacy.
* Maintain documentation related to requests and assignments.
* Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to:
photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
* Meet and greet clients and visitors.
* Research, price, and purchase office furniture and supplies.
* Assist with office projects such as workshops, trainings, advocacy, etc.
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education:
_x_High School Diploma or Equivalent (Some college preferred)
Course of study:
_x_ Specific: Courses in deafness and/or ASL preferred, but not necessary.
Experience:
Experience with administrative duties and/or deafness preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have:

_x_ computer skills -fluency in Microsoft Office
_x_ other skills: Basic knowledge of Deaf culture, ASL, & the ADA
Schedule:
Expected office hours Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Must have ability to meet deadlines efficiently and under pressure.
