Level Ground Arts is pleased to announce the regional premiere of the
musical “Xanadu”.
Nights Interpreted: August 6th, August 12th , August 20th, August 26th, 2011
Time: The musical will be performed on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:15 pm

Based on the notoriously so bad-it’s funny 1980s film which starred Olivia
Newton-John and Gene Kelly, the stage version focuses on a Greek muse, Clio,
who descends from Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 disguised
as an Australian roller girl named Kira to inspire struggling artist Sonny
to achieve the greatest creation of his life – a roller disco. Her jealous
sisters complicate matters by causing Clio to fall in love with the mortal
Sonny, which could lead to her eternal banishment to the underworld.
Featuring the Electric Light Orchestra songs taken directly from the movie,
the score includes such hits as Magic and I’m Alive, as well as Olivia
Newton-John’s 1975 success Have You Never Been Mellow.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for Seniors and Students with a valid ID.
