Obituary – Mrs. Effie Mae Miller
Mrs. Effie Mae Miller, 91, of Alexandria, LA, passed away Sunday, March
04, 2012, at Rapides Regional Medical Center. She was a member of
Emmanuel Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA. She was a housewife and
mother before she later retired from the Rapides Bank as a bank key
punch/verifier. She was a co-founder and an honorary member of the
Alexandria Association of the Deaf, a member of the Louisiana
Association of the Deaf, and a member of the Lafayette Athletic
Association of the Deaf.
To note; when Effie Miller lived in San Marcos and Austin for a brief
few years in which time she had made many good friends. She had
expressed to her family members about her fond memories about the fine
people of Texas especially those who treated her well, and shared in
good and fun times together. Effie also loved the wonderful annual
display of Texas wildflowers.
She survived by her children, Wanda L. Miller of Pineville, LA; Garlan
W. Miller of Pleasanton, CA, Sheila M. Miller of Austin, TX, Sharon S.
Smith of Friendswood, TX, and Delores Alice Miller of Austin, TX; five
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Deloy L. Miller; her parents,
L. M. and Addnie Hill; and her brother, Everette Hill.
