Rehearsals start June 3, 2013. Show runs July 5 – July 28, 2013.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the Script.

Female Roles
Lydia – Age 18 – 25. She has some residual hearing and reads lips. She will be using ASL. Lydia must also be able to verbalize/speak.
Mrs. Norman – Sarah’s mother, age 50 – 60 years old. Uses some basic ASL.
Edna Klein – A lawyer, age 30 – 40 years old. Finger spells and uses very limited ASL.
Male Roles
Orin Dennis – Age 25-30. He has some residual hearing and reads lips. He will be using ASL. Orin must also be able to verbalize/speak.
Mr. Franklin – Age between 40 – 60 years old. He is the supervising teacher at the deaf school. He will use some ASL and reads ASL.

A success both on Broadway and at the Mark Taper Forum, in Los Angeles, this deeply moving, beautifully written play details the romance and marriage of a sensitive but spirited deaf girl and the devoted (and hearing) young teacher whom she meets at a school for the deaf.
