Deaf Adolescent Social Worker/Clinician Employment Opportunity (Immediate)
St. Joseph’s Healthcare System in Paterson, NJ coordinates a residential program through the NJ Department of Children & Families serving 5 Deaf/hard-of-hearing youth, ages 10-21, located on the grounds of the New Jersey School for the Deaf/Katzenbach in West Trenton.
MSW required, state licensure highly preferred. New Jersey LSW or LCSW license eligibility will be expected. Major responsibilities include the provision of adolescent clinical assessment and treatment services, individual/group therapies, coordination of services, working closely with families and schools. Ability to work well with children who either have psychiatric diagnoses, developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. Strong crisis intervention skills needed. Must be an effective team player interacting with direct care staff. Timely documentation and organizational skills necessary. Needs to be consistently proactive with challenging populations. Full-time position. ASL fluency required.
