Texas Woman’s University Presents a Free Deaf Education Seminar
Hello from Texas Woman’s University! Would you share this invitation with your students/Colleagues to come join us at TWU for a free deaf education seminar?
This is a personal invitation to you to join us for our first TWU Deaf Education Forum, “Teachers Leading Teachers”, on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 8:30 to 4:00. The job of teaching deaf and hard of hearing students is both rewarding and challenging. Our goal is to equip you with practical strategies and to inspire you with stories of success from teachers. Our hope is to host this forum biannually, alternating with the Statewide Conference on Deaf Education, and we want to include you in this inaugural session.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Curt Radford from Utah State University. Dr. Radford brings broad professional experiences as a classroom teacher, principal, and award-winning teaching of ASL in the online format, as well as the lived experience of a student in a school for the deaf. His positive and practice-based message will set the stage for our forum, and will be followed by breakout sessions presented by classroom teachers directly from the field on topics that are relevant to your practice. The forum is free, and CEUs are available.
Please plan to participate. We look forward to a reunion with friends, a plethora of teaching strategies and wisdom from real teachers of the deaf in real classrooms. We will need a final count of attendees in order to plan for the day, so please register now at https://sites.google.com/site/twudeafeducationforum/
Thank you for the investment that you make daily in supporting students that are deaf/hard of hearing. We are excited about this event and hope to see you here at TWU!
