ASL Chat Haven
ASL Chat Haven is a fellowship of Deaf and hearing people who meet to communicate in American Sign Language. The goal is to enhance signing skills, especially receptive skills, and increase mutual understanding of the language and culture of the Deaf Community.
ASL Chat Haven offers hearing individuals with varying levels of sign language skill, a unique opportunity to interact and learn from Deaf People in a safe environment. We especially welcome hearing professionals and students who work with or wish to work with the Deaf Community using American Sign Language to communicate.
Deaf professionals, adults, seniors, H.S. & College students are encouraged to join us in this endeavor. You are the ‘Deaf Community’ with whom hearing people wish to ‘chat & interact, observe and learn from.
Come enjoy the ’Sound of Silence’ within a Haven, known as “a safe harbor for ships” or in this case a refuge and safe place for people of different backgrounds to gather, share, and learn.
