DEAF CONTRACTED RESPITE PROVIDERS WANTED
Austin Travis County Integral Care is now accepting applications for contracted respite providers for our Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Services Network.
WHAT IS RESPITE?
Respite is a service that provides for the planned or emergency short-term relief of the unpaid caregiver of a Consumer when the caregiver is temporarily unavailable to provide supports due to non-routine circumstances. This service provides a consumer with personal assistance in daily living activities (e.g., grooming, eating, bathing, dressing and personal hygiene) and functional living tasks. The service includes assistance with:
• planning and preparing meals; transportation or assistance in securing transportation;
• ambulating and mobility;
• reinforcement of behavioral support or specialized therapies activities;
• assistance with medications and the performance of tasks delegated by an RN in accordance with state law; and
• supervision of the consumer’s safety and security.
WHERE IS RESPITE PROVIDED?
• Respite is usually provided in the Consumers home or out in the community.
WHAT IS THE RATE OF PAY?
• $8.50 per hour for 10 or less hours provided in a calendar day
• $85.00 per day for 10.25 or more hours in a calendar day
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS?
• High School Diploma or GED
• Some experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
