Looking for the perfect youth summer camp for your child or teenager? Well, you’ve found it! Camp Sign is more than just a Texas summer camp for kids who are deaf or hard of hearing. July 30-August 5 will be a week of fun-filled, life-changing experiences for campers. At our camp, each day is packed with activities such as water sports, swimming, archery, canoeing and so much more.
If you are a deaf, hard-of-hearing, or hearing adult, college student or a high school senior who is interested in spending your week investing in people’s lives through Camp Sign, then we would love to meet you. We offer summer camp counselor positions, as well as counselor-in-training opportunities.
The 2017 dates for Camp Sign are Sunday, July 30 – Saturday, August 5, 2017.
The mission of the camp is to provide an environment of acceptance, and we encourage all young persons who are deaf or hard of hearing throughout the state of Texas to participate, regardless of their communication mode.
Camp SIGN 2017 continues to use a wonderful campsite in the woodlands near Conroe, Texas, just 35 miles north of Houston. Camp Misty Meadows is owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto, Inc.
Camp Sign is for youth between ages 8 and 15 who are deaf or hard of hearing. Youth of ages 16 and 17 may participate in the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program which focuses on developing leadership skills to help them become future counselors and leaders.
The Camp Sign Camper and CIT Application, with an application fee of $35 (check or money order), is required for each child on or before May 24, 2017. (This will reserve a space for your child.) To receive a copy of the application, please fill out the form below.
Interested and former counselors are welcome to apply; applications are due on or before May 5, 2017. To receive a copy of the counselor application, please fill out the form below.
Camp SIGN depends on donations to keep the program running. Tax deductible gifts may be sent to:
