Weldon David Seely
June 6, 1934 – July 11, 2019
Weldon David Seely was born in O’Donnell, Lynn County, Texas on June 6, 1934 to Bertie Payne Seely and Marvin David Seely.
Weldon attended the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas. After graduating from the Texas School for the Deaf he attended a trade school where he learned the certification to enable him to operate printing presses. He worked for the Tyler, Texas newspaper for several years. He married Molly Jane Spence on September 24, 1960. Molly predeceased Weldon on August 25, 2016.
They were predeceased by three children, Bobby Lee, Linda Kay and Dolly Ann. Weldon was predeceased by both parents, Marvin David Seely and Bertie Payne Seely Campbell and brother, Harold Dwayne Seely. He is survived by brother, Jerry Lee Seely and wife Linda, sister Sherrie Seely Hopkins, nieces and nephews Tammy Seely Hembree and husband Bryan; Mark Seely; Stacy Seely Adams and husband Terrell; Donnia Sue Seely wife of Harold Dwayne Seely;James Seely and wife Nancy; Donnia Seely Robles and husband Juan;Clay Hopkins and wife Cynthia; Christi Hopkins Groff and husband Matt; and several great nieces and nephews. Special thanks go to the Staff at Colonial Lodge where Weldon has lived the past 18 months. Thanks also to the nurses and doctors at Hunt Regional. Weldon was known as a kind and gentle man. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
