Accessibility and Disability Policy Webinar Series
Applying the ADA to Landmarks and Other Historical Buildings
Have you ever been confused about how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to historical buildings? Most older buildings were not originally designed with accessibility in mind, and while the passage of the ADA means they must comply with accessibility standards there are some exceptions!
Join us Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. as we discuss what it means to be designated as a historic landmark, accessibility exceptions, and creative ways to ensure compliance with the ADA and the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS). This session will run for an hour and a half, including time for Q & A.
Presenters:
John Torkelson, RAS, CASp, APA, ADA Specialist
Mark J. Mazz, AIA, LLC
Real-time captioning and sign language interpreters will be provided for this session. ZOOM is accessible for users of assistive technology. If you need other accommodations or have questions, email [email protected] or call 512-463-5740.
