Topic: Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP)
Daymond Sands, Deaf Action Center-Dallas’ Deaf specialist, will talk about the STAP. STAP provides communication access though devices for deaf and hard of hearing people who need it. In addition to cell phones, there are headphones available for people who are hard of hearing that increase the volume to the appropriate level, FM systems, and so much more. You name it, the technology is so advanced right now to help those who need it. Through the STAP program, we have vouchers that can help people pay for devices that they wouldn’t normally be able to afford on their own.

The Copeland House is a place where DSDFWM members gather for a meeting or community activity program. After the speech, the eating out social will be held from 11:00 thru 2:00.
