Cedar Hill State Park – Schedule & Locations Deaf Outdoor Day September 28, 2024
10am-1pm events with ASL interpreters provided by Cedar Hill State Park & TPWD
1:45 pm-7:30 pm hikes and yoga hosted by DFW ASL Outdoors.
No interpreters provided since events will be in ASL
- 10am-1pm Recreation Hall Programs, Activities, Booths
- 10:45am Penn Farm Penn Farm Walk
- 12pm Recreation Hall (Covered Patio) Dutch Oven Cooking
- 6am-10pm On your own without a guide, bring your own gear:
* Dorba Trails, Mountain Biking
* Kayaks and Paddleboards from EZ Paddle
* Fishing
* Geocaching
* Picnic
* Boating
* Hiking - 1:45pm Shoreline Trail (meet at south Shoreline Trailhead parking lot) Easy 1 mile hike on sidewalk.
- 1:45pm Talala Trail (meet at Penn Farm parking lot) Intermediate beginner level hike, 2.3 miles, 2 bathrooms along the way, uneven dirt path with hills and lots of splits in the trail.
- 5:30pm Recreation Hall (Covered Patio) Sunset Yoga in ASL: wind down with a mind body connection with movement and breath, ending with a gratitude circle and watching the sunset. Bring 1-2 yoga mats and a towel. All levels welcome.

Together with the Texas Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities, Cedar Hill State Park is hosting a special day of programs for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community on September 28 from 10am to 1pm. Join us to learn more about state parks, take a guided hike, enjoy hands-on activities, discover the park’s history, and more! Registration is required. This event is free–park entrance fees will be waived for registered participants.
