Important Information!!

COME to a COMMUNITY MEETING TO LEARN ABOUT
STAR+PLUS and what it means to YOU!
Tuesday/January 23, 2007
6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

At CSD OF Texas-San Antonio
7400 Blanco Road #130
San Antonio, Texas 78216

Starting February 1, 2007, Medicaid recipients will be required to be enrolled in one of the new Medicaid Health Care Plans to receive their Medicaid Benefits.

Enrollment in STAR+Plus is required for Medicaid recipients who live in the STAR+Plus Service area and are one or more of the following:

* People who have a physical or mental disability and qualify for supplemental security income (SSI) benefits or for Medicaid due to low income.
* People who qualify for Community-Based Alternative 1915(c) waiver services.
* People age 21 or older who can receive Medicaid because they are in a Social Security Exclusion program and meet financial criteria for 1915(c) waiver services.
* People ages 21 or older who are receiving supplemental security incomes.

The Star+Plus service area is the following counties: Bexar, Medina, Atascosa, Wilson, Comal, Guadalupe, and Kendall. The Medicaid recipient will have 3 health care plans to choose from: Amerigroup, Superior, and Molina Health Care. If the Medicaid recipient does not make a choice by completing the enrollment packet, then they will be ‘auto-enrolled’ to one of the health care plans.

This information and more is being provided at the Star+Plus information events. The purpose of these events is to provide information to the Medicaid recipient and/or their family in order to assist them in learning about Star+Plus, how to enroll, and how this affects their benefits and services.

Those individuals who are deaf/hearing impaired and are a Medicaid recipient should be encouraged to attend; although anyone is welcomed.
