About the Musical:

This enchanted children’s literature classic is fused with beautiful, passionate music by Lucy Simon. Orphaned in India, an 11 year old girl returns to Yorkshire to live with an embittered, reclusive uncle and his invalid son. The estate includes a magic garden. Flashbacks, dream sequences, a strolling chorus of ghosts, and some of the most beautiful music ever written for Broadway dramatize THE SECRET GARDEN’S compelling tale of regeneration.

“Elegant … The best American musical of the Broadway season” – Time
“It’s all you can hope for in children’s theater. But the best surprise is that this show is the most adult new musical of the season.” – USA Today
“Achieves the irresistible appeal that moves audiences to standing ovations.” – Christian Science Monitor

About the Director:

Sharon Veselic makes her DFW metroplex directing debut with THE SECRET GARDEN. When in the Washington D.C. area, she directed over 30 productions. Some of them include THE SOUND OF MUSIC, OKLAHOMA, THE KING AND I, TWO BY TWO, PETER PAN, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, THE WIZARD OF OZ, THE MIRACLE WORKER, THE HAUNTING CINDERELLA, GODSPELL, NO, NO NANNETTE, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts and Elementary Education from St. Leo College, and was the Directing Intern at The Arena Stage Regional Theater in Washington D.C., where she worked with Garland Wright and Zelda Fitchandler. She worked on numerous After School Specials and Mini Series as a Production Office Coordinator, and Script Supervisor on many films. She was the Artistic Director for The Stage Door Players based at Adventure Theatre in Maryland, where she directed both main stage and youth productions. Sharon is currently the Production Manager for Artisan.

From some of her work and connections in the east, she has elicited well wishes on this production from good friend, Robert Westenberg (the original Neville on Broadway).
