Workshop Description: You asked for more, you got it!! This workshop is a continuation of Part 1 and is designed as a share-shop in which intermediate to advanced interpreters can analyze semantic intent and sign choices in discourse. After a short recap on the information presented in Part 1, participants will work in large and small groups to discuss meaning, shades of meaning, sign choices, use and examples of sign concepts listed on the handout. The focus will be to analyze the signs based on their connotative meaning in ASL. Often, the topic of “Conceptual Accuracy” is used when discussing semantic meaning in ASL. This views ASL concepts from an English-dominant translation perspective. This workshop will focus on semantic intent and sign choices from an ASL dominant, ASL meaning-based perspective.

Participants will be divided into small groups based on certification.
