SILVER SPRING, MD. — The Board of Directors of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) announces the appointment of Trudy Suggs as Board secretary. She fills the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Nancylynn Ward and will serve out the remainder of her term, ending at the 49th Biennial NAD Conference in New Orleans next year.

Suggs resides in Faribault, Minnesota and is owner and president of T.S. Writing Services. Previously, she worked as a nonprofit administrator, instructor and editor. Active in the deaf community, she currently serves as vice president of the Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens (MADC).

“The NAD Board and I look forward to Trudy’s enthusiasm and leadership experience; we know she will play a vitally important role as we embark on an era of exciting times for the NAD. Welcome on board, Trudy!” said NAD President Bobbie Beth Scoggins. “Please join me in expressing appreciation for Nancylynn’s service to date and wishing her well in her endeavors. We know she remains committed to the NAD and will continue to be involved as a member.”

The next meeting of the NAD Board of Directors is April 27 and 28, 2007 at the NAD Headquarters in Silver Spring, MD.
