Dallas Deaf Club – May 2007 events

A Message from Dallas Deaf Club President:

Hello DAD members and friends!

The month of April surely came and went by so fast! First my sister and her family from Wisconsin flew down here and spent their spring break with my husband, Preston, and I. Then Preston and I went up north to WI and hit two birds with one stone by visiting my parents and family for a few days and also participating in the Great Lakes Deaf Bowling Association (GLDBA) and GLDWBA (women) in Milwaukee.

it is my understanding that my Milwaukee woman team won 1st place! Both Preston and I had a great reunion with our friends while we were up there. Preston was able to see his old friends from Maryland as well.

Now I need to get my DAD presidency “cap” back on and get the DAD gear going again! I will always need you and your help with DAD in any way possible.

Here are some upcoming events scheduled during the month of May. Please do mark your calendars and consider coming to one, or all, of our events!

May 4 – Prime Time Sign Time
May 5 – North Texas Deaf Poker Tournament

May 4, Friday – Prime Time Sign Time: here is a great place and time where we share our ASL signs and/or stories with others. It will begin at 8:00 pm, for a couple hours, and only cost $3.00 for non-members and free for members. FYI: we will NOT have Prime Time Sign Time during month of June, July and August. We wish the ASL students and interpreters a wonderful summer.

May 5, Saturday – North Texas Deaf Poker Tournament: This is a monthly event at DAD. FYI: soon the top 8 out of 100 players, who have earned the most points, will enter the final tournament this July, to determine who will win the North Texas Deaf Poker Championship.
