The DVDs concentrate on providing challenging skill development materials for advanced interpreters and CEUs are available by contacting an approved RID Independent Study sponsor.

Hand In Hand partners with professional interpreting colleagues to model the nature of what we do: And what we do, as interpreters, is partner. We partner with each other, we partner with Deaf people, we partner with hearing people – we partner with everyone we work with. We exist in a bilingual culture, where we relate between cultures, provide cross-cultural services, and work with diverse populations. We team with each other and spoken language interpreters, CDIs, Deaf-Blind Interpreters, and CART Providers. My partner in these 2 DVDs is Layla D’Entremont.

Our research-based interpreting philosophies and cross-cultural perspectives are exemplified in these DVDs. CEUs are available for each DVD and we made every effort to demonstrate that our products can be used for professional growth, classroom use, self-assessment, mentoring, linguistic and register analyses, discourse and text analyses, and much more.

The DVDs illustrate our mission which is to provide materials that model partnering with Deaf Culture, Hearing Culture, Multi-Cultural Groups, Hard-of-Hearing individuals, Interpreters, Clients, and Consumers. We offer skill development through lecture materials, embedded activities, sample interpretations, and challenging source material for advanced interpreters to develop and refine their skills through practical application and integrated theory. Our objective is to provide materials that standardize business practices and provide real-world practical application strategies and techniques that interpreters can use immediately.

Thank you for your time and attention. We look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy viewing the materials as much as we enjoyed making them.
