A MESSAGE FROM THE DAD PRESIDENT:

Hello Members and Friends of DAD;
Wow, it’s so hard to believe that summer is over! Schools and
colleges have begun a week or two ago. Where did the time go! DAD has
made a couple new changes inside the building; the Officer’s office
has finally been done and relocating the stage. Please do come and
take a look at our newly renovated building.
In spite of our busy schedules, I certainly hope you are able to come
to one or all of our upcoming events for this month:
September 7, 7:30 p.m. – Social Security Administration Presentation.
It’s your chance to have a better understanding of SSI/SSDI/SS and
Medicare A/B.
September 8, 7:00 p.m. – DAD HONORARY AWARDS. Let’s come and take
some time to recognize and praise some of the hardworking and
dedicated individuals within DAD. Please do contact Herb Picou,
[email protected], ASAP if you desire to come.
September 14, 7:30 p.m. – General Members Meeting. It’s your time to
speak up or listen to what others have to say! Please come!
September 15, 9:00 – 12:00 – DAD/DFWA’s co-sponsored third job
related workshop, out of four, to be presented by Tashee Gates, DARS
counselor, on “Becoming a Self Advocate: Getting the Job Done!”
September 15, 3:00-6:00 p.m. – Dallas Black Deaf Advocate Meeting.
September 15, 8:00 p.m. – CINGO Night. It’s a long time favorite game
by many of us!
September 16, 10-6 p.m. – Fall Bazaar. It’s your chance to get some
of your Christmas shopping done! For the booth, please go

September 22, fyi: DAD will be closed because of TSD Homecoming in
Austin.
