Thieves Strike Fort Worth Church For The Deaf

(CBS 11 News) FORT WORTH The New Life Deaf Fellowship Church in east
Fort Worth provides a place of worship for 125 hearing disabled
people across North Texas.

Today they’re wondering why a thief would target them.

Pastor Aric Randolph’s storage shed used to be full of lawn equipment
and tools for volunteers. But thieves broke in and took it all. $2500
worth.

Now church members are hoping for an insurance check.

Randolph says there’s only so much the church can do. “Where there’s
a will there’s a way,” he told us, in sign language. “If people want
to break in they’re going to. What can we do? We can do nothing. I
can’t sleep here, can’t watch it all the time. If it happens it
happens.”

And it did happen again Wednesday night.

This time the thieves used a bathroom window to get inside the
church.

They left behind plenty of valuables, but walked away with money.
$400 in donated change that was going to go toward building a worship
garden. “It was about half full of pennies, nickels, quarters, dollar
bills,” Randolph said.

Despite the break-ins, Pastor Randolph and his members say their
faith will prevail. “What bothers me the most is someone broke into
the church building. But we know that God will take care of us, he
will provide, he will help us. Then we’re okay. He helps us.”
