TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF RANGERS ON FIRE; HEADED TO PLAY-OFFS
Austin, Texas November 8, 2007 The Texas School for the Deaf (TSD)
takes home-field advantage for the final district football game of
the season tonight at Rudolph Gamblin Field in South Austin at 7:30
p.m.
The TSD Rangers (8-2) meet the San Marcos Baptist Academy (4-5) in
TAPPS Division III District 3, and are planning on a win. Although
TSDs winning season has secured the team a playoff spot, Chris
Hamilton, TSDs Athletic Director says, tonights game is very
important and a win is needed going in against District 4 next week.
TSD will face Division III District 4s second-ranked team, from the
Houston/Galveston area, in the playoffs if they prevail over San
Marcos tonight. A loss would mean TSD meets the districts number one
team in the first round of the playoffs next week. Hamilton adds, The
team is eager and enthusiastic, and focused on a win tonight. Were
very confident.
TSD will also recognize its twelve senior players tonight, and will
introduce them at the start of the game. Following tonights game,
the Sangre del Sol Fire Troupe will give a spectacular volunteer
performance. The performance group was just named in the Austin
Chronicle’s “Best of Austin 20073 list. Tonights performance will
include original fire props, stunning and extraordinary costumes,
drummers and musicians.
