TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF RANGERS BOUND FOR PLAY-OFFS
Austin, Texas – November 16, 2007 – The Texas School for the Deaf’s
(TSD) football team hits the road to Beaumont today for a first round
match-up in the post-season against Beaumont Legacy Christian Academy.
The game kicks-off at 7:00 p.m., at Babe Zaharias Stadium, 2445
Concord Road, in Beaumont. TSD is holding a special pep rally at the
school in South Austin today at 9:15 a.m. before sending the team off
with hometown support.
TSD meets the Legacy Christian Warriors (5-5) in the TAPPS Division
III play-offs. With ten starters returning from last year, the TSD
Rangers finished the regular season 9-2, taking third place in
Division III, District 3. The Warriors are celebrating their best
season finish to date, capturing second place in their division. TSD
Head Coach, Matt Thompson, says, “being in the playoffs means a lot
to our players, our school and to our loyal fans.” We are very
excited, and still hungry for more games to play.
