My aunt was the volunteer parish secretary of the parish of St.
John’s when he arrived there. She said he really got a Deaf
congregation started quickly. He’s well-known for comforting persons
who are ill in the hospital. Fr. Guy received some local media
attention as a ‘David vs. Goliath’ fighting the city government to
shelter the homeless in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church after
the local homeless shelter was closed after operating only 2 years.
