PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR COCHLEAR IMPLANT RESEARCH STUDY

I am conducting a study on how the brain changes during periods of
deafness and how this may effect speech perception with a cochlear
implant. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 who were born with
or acquired severe to profound deafness before the age of three years
and have had a cochlear implant for a minimum of six months are
needed to participate. Study procedures include a hearing test,
speech perception tests (repeating sentences and words) and recording
of brainwaves in response to visual stimuli. The time required to
participate in the study is about 3 hours. The research is taking
place at the UTD Callier Center in Dallas. I am compensating
participants $10 (cash) an hour in appreciation of their time and
