Open Captions @ the ALAMO

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to let you know we will be showing “Horton Hears a Who” in
open captions on Sat. April

5th. 11 am.

“A person is a person, no matter how small.” -Dr. Seuss, from Horton
Hears A Who

Based on the Dr. Seuss classic, this new CG animated film tells the
story of an imaginative elephant named Horton (Jim Carrey) who hears a
cry for help coming from a speck of dust floating through the air.
Suspecting there may be life on that speck, and despite everyone
around him who thinks he is losing

his mind, Horton is determined to help.

This is a great kids movie. I hope to see you there.

We are going to try to have 11 am open captions movies every
Saturday. We would love to show more OC films. We are able to show
captions films when the distributer (the company that makes the movies
such as Disney, Columbia, ect….) have an open caption disc to go
along with the movie. Some of the movie companies such as Paramount
and Pixar, do not provide an OC disc to go along with the movie. This
means many children’s movies will not be able to be seen in captions
on the big screen. Pixar is the one of the biggest producers of kid
movies. They put captions on the DVD’s they sell after the movie is
released but do not have them when the movie is in the theater. I have
made pleas to the movie distributors to provide captions with these
movies but have gotten no response. Maybe if enough people let these
companies know we want the captions, they will provide them. Also, we
are trying to start scheduling an OC movie on Wed. nights as well. So
that would mean 2 OC movies a week. I will let you know about the Wed.
night films soon.

Kid Policy: Children of all ages will only be allowed at movies that
start before 6.
