Austin Mayors Committee, DARS and Goodwill Industries are sponsoring
the annual Austin Employment Expo from 9 to 3 on May 14, 2008 at the
Palmer Events Center. There will be a large number of perspective
employers at this event, eagerly waiting for the right applicant (and
some employers will be ready to interview on the spot!),. It is
important to assure you are dressed for a potential job interview in
case they are interviewed by an employer. There will also be a series
of classes on resume writing, interview skills and application
completion.
Plan to have DARS technology lab representative with several examples
for consumers and/or potential employers to test.
Informational Post Cards are coming soon to facilitate the
announcement of this wonderful activity to your consumers. These
should arrive around the first week of May and will be distributed to
the local Austin offices.
Please pass the word to anyone who was interested in attending. DARS
is providing two interpreters.
