Cancel Notice – Emergency Preparedness workshop for Hidalgo County
July 25th’s Emergency Preparedness workshop for Hidalgo County Deaf
residents will be postponed to a later date due to incoming Hurricane
Dolly.
It is our goal to get this rescheduled as quickly as possible; we’re
aiming for 1st or 2nd Friday of August. Once the date has been set
we’ll send out another flyer with that updated date information.
For those of you in the Rio Grande Valley area, if you’d like to
start getting ASL messages and alerts, go to http://www.DeafLink.com
and click on the menu option: sign up for AHAS-IN. This is a FREE
service provided by the State of Texas Governor’s Division of
Emergency Management Office to any individual who relies on ASL as
their primary language choice.
If you’d like to see ASL (or text) messages on various preparedness
topics please visit the Texas Department of Public Safety’s website:
http://www.txdps.com
and click on the Emergency Management tab; from there click on the
Deaf Link link and you’ll be routed to an “Accessible Content” page
with ASL and Text formatted topics related to preparedness and other
information.
