Updated on Austin & Dallas TSDAA Picnic

Hello Alumni and Non-Alumni,

It has been a while since I had the vlog last month. Here I am-Andrew
Horn, Vice-President of TSDAA. Last July 26, TSDAA Picnic that hosted
at Austin Association of the Deaf known as Austin Deaf Club was
successful. There were approxmiately over 70 people attending (both
alumni and non-alumni). They made new friends and met old friends.
They brought good side dishes along with hamburgers and hot dogs
provided by TexanVRS. I intended to capture the film on this event;
however, I was so overwhelmed by setting up, serving folks and giving
presentation. After they had their meal, I gave the presentation on
two things: TSDAA issues and TexanVRS issues. They now understood the
purpose of having this event.

Remember that TSDAA planned to host the picnic at Dallas Association
of the Deaf in Dallas back in July (can’t remember the date);
however, it was cancelled due to not enough on RSVP. Good NEWS…..It
is rescheduled to host at DAD on Saturday, August 30. Come on to join
us and we will share the issues that we already gave to the folks who
attended the picnic at Austin Association of the Deaf. If you plan to
come, please RSVP so we can count the heads for meat to be provided.
Please RSVP by emailing me.

We try to set up the picnic in Houston; however, Tom Becker was not
able to get any assistance from folks in Houston to find a place. I
understood that Houston Deaf Club is not existing. (I could be wrong
on this but no information to be shared). We would like to host the
picinc on Saturday, August 23 but that would be almost a week and half
from today. If you know something about the place, please contact Tom
Becker. By the way, Tom is TSDAA President. We will try to see if it
is possible to host one on August 23th.

TSD Homecoming will be on Saturday, October 4th. TSDAA will have
their events planning for this. By the way, the election time (not
re-election) is coming up and will need to vote for new officers. The
new officiers will serve two-year term.

Thank you for watching the vlog and will make another vlog upcoming
later. Have a good day. Bye…..

Andrew Horn
