Van Zant’s Inspiration Continues
The inspirational story of former Robert E. Lee Red Raider Martel Van
Zant continues.
Kelli Masters, Martel’s agent, told KLTV 7 Sports Director Maya
Golden that the former Oklahoma State cornerback worked out with the
Tennessee Titans last week. Martel is now on the NFL’s “ready” list.
The list goes to all teams, informing them of what athletes are still
available for a work out throughout the season.
Masters also said that several arena league football teams have
expressed interest in Martel.
Martel was born without ear drums. He overcame the odds to play for
Tyler Lee and then received a scholarship to play at OSU.
Masters also told KLTV 7 the rights to Martel’s life story were sold
to Imagine Entertainment, owned by Ron Howard. The company is now
looking for a script writer to bring Martel’s story to the big screen.
