Obituary: Dorothy Mae Krystyniak
Dorothy Mae Krystyniak, 75, of Brashear, TX, died of a heart attack
on September 12, 2008. She was born in New Waverly, Texas on October
4, 1932. She attended Texas School for the Deaf. She was very much
involved in the Catholic Deaf community in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
during the year of 1965 through 1975. She was a secretary of Mother
Mary Society of Deaf Chapter 51, affiliated with the International
Catholic Deaf Asociation (ICDA). She became a born-again Christian on
December 23, 1976. Dorothy Mae was a former employee of Liberty Mutual
Insurance Company of Dallas. She divorced Otho Penix, a former TSD
student (now deceased). She is survived by her son, Johnny Penix,
married to Delene Penix; a daughter, Jenny Dahlen, married to Eric
Dahlen. Dorothy Mae had 4 grandchildren.
On September 16, Dorothy Mae’s body was brought to Cathedral Praise
Church in Mesquite, Texas for a funeral service. Her body was brought
to New Waverly and will be buried at Elmina Cemetery, next to her
father, on Friday, September 19, at 2 pm.
